It's Christmas in Haiti

Greetings,

Yesterday afternoon we celebrated Christmas with the staff of NVM. It was a great time.  We had amazing food (rice and beans included), spiritual challenges, we sang together, we laughed together, we played games and "you know who" even made a special appearance. And guess who played that role!! Ho Ho Ho!! Everyone had a great time. Cheryl worked hard making the evening festive and the Haitian cooking staff did themselves proud. Here are the sights and sounds of the gala event. We have included a short video and a number of photos.

The celebrating will continue next week. We will share more at that time.  We love and appreciate you all.

The week before Christmas in Haiti

Hi everyone,
It is the week before Christmas and we are busy preparing for the big day. Actually, Christmas starts tomorrow with the NVM staff party. We will have to post pictures because Jim is going to play “you know who!!”

In preparation for the big occasion, we have spent the day in the kitchen baking cookies and making the dining hall look festive. (Most of the credit goes to Cheryl)

NVM also is getting a Christmas gift today. One of our two generators was failing and the guys are installing the new one this afternoon.

It is such a joy to be a member of God’s family and to fully appreciate the meaning of Christmas. Let’s rejoice together that Jesus was willing to visit us and to give his life for our sins. May each of you experience God’s presence and joy during this wonderful season of the year.

The GAiN Mission Team Finishes Strong with Works of Service on the NVM Compound

Our week has come to a close for the GAiN mission team on the NVM compound. And it was a good week! They finished with additional works of service. Team members put the ceiling and walls into one of the new dorm buildings, they built church benches and completely cleaned and reorganized Cheryl’s work area and the NVM Hope Gift Shop. We have included photos from the jewelry class held on Wednesday. This was the final class for a group of ladies who were challenged to start their own jewelry businesses. Here are the sights!

We want to thank the wonderful members of this team for coming to Haiti. They were fantastic. And thank you for your interest and prayers. The GAiN team ministry went so well this week and we know it was because of your prayers. The spiritual warfare here is great so it is important to have prayer warriors. Thank you! We said good bye to the team this morning at 6 am. We pray God’s blessing on them as they return home.
