So the question these days is, "Who is behind door number 4?" That would be apartment number 4 on the NVM campus!!
Why that would be David Ugai! Dave is the newest US member of the NVM staff. And here is his smiling face!
Let us tell you a little bit about him. Dave is a dentist but his interests go beyond dentistry. Dave just returned from spending a year in the African nation of Guinea with Mercy Ships. His time there was spent doing dentistry. However, he has developed a broader interest and is currently enrolled (online) in a masters degree in Public Health from John Hopkins University.
Dave is a Minnesota boy. (That is one of the reasons Cheryl and I like him so much!) And he is an avid Vikings fan. By spending a year in Africa and now living in Haiti he has definitely escaped the cold weather of the northern tundra!
Dave has joined the staff of NVM as the Medical Programs Coordinator. As we have reported in the past, NVM is constructing a new hospital. We have come to realize that a great deal of research needs to be done before the hospital is opened. Dave will be doing that research and will be planning and developing medical programs and procedures. And he will also be doing some dental work along the way.
Dave is a quiet and easy-going young man who fits right into the US staff at NVM. We are enjoying his company very much. And on top of that he has agreed to be Santa Claus this Christmas for the Haitian staff and nearby community children. And with me leaving, the team is one driver short. It is good that Dave feels right at home driving a 5-speed pickup truck and is willing to drive in Haiti.
We welcome Dave to our team. Be praying for him as he goes about his very important work at NVM.
Serving on your behalf in Haiti,
Jim & Cheryl Warner
